The 2023 Render Network Foundation Roadmap:

Create the Roadmap

1

Feels a bit meta here, but one of the biggest pieces of feedback from the community was the need for a Render Network Roadmap. This is the first iteration and will be updated with more feedback. Completed May 2023

Publish Foundation Website

2

Start a community resource at renderfoundation.com. Similarly as meta as the Roadmap item #1. Completed May 2023

Hiring and Staffing Plan

3

Publish the Render Foundation 2023 hiring plan.

Publish Updated Whitepaper with New BME Model

4

Update Whitepaper to v4.0 including updates around BME, RNP, and the Render Network. Completed May 2023

Migrate from Discord to Discourse

5

For the purpose of better community participation we will move to Discourse from Discord for our RNP process.

Administer 2023 Grant Cohort

6

The 2023 Grant Cohort was awarded in November.

Upgrade RNDR -> RENDER

7

Our community voted in RNP001 to move from Ethereum to Solana. RNDR is the ERC20 token, and RENDER is the Solana SPL token.

The Upgrade Portal can be found here.

Implement BME Model

8

The highly anticipated Burn and Mint Equilibrium Model will be launched within weeks of the Breakpoint conference on November 2, 2023. This will take place on RENDER.

Note: this roadmap is for the Foundation, and does not include ongoing development which OTOY will perform in 2023 on its products, and which is expected to include (amongst others):

  • the addition of the ability for the Octane client to natively use c4d files

  • the ability to use other renders from within the Octane client (Starting with Redshift)

  • integrating AI tools into its interfaces and processing
